The following is blatantly copied from the Pits website.  WOW!

14 May - E3 Update...
Here's what our inside pit reporter had to say on the sims he got to try at
E3...note, your mileage may vary...
WSC - SUPERNOVA! Even though not fully optimized, the version at E3 showed
great promise for this coming X-mas. I got to tooddle-around Monza (even on
the old part of the course!) where I was greeted with splendid graphics and
enjoyable physics model (this too wasn't fully optimized). I can't wait
until beta-time! =)

Enjoyable physics, that's not GPL like physics to me. I'm starting to doubt
this sim a bit. I have the feeling they're going more and more to a more
arcade like game. Don't ask my way, part of it was also that video.

Good news! Hope they do it better than the banked Monza in SoS37!

Were did all this flamig come from ??
 - Will you please stop flaming a product that's only 65% done ?? !!!

When people first heard of this game, they were all totally freaked out by
the graphics and all the wonderfull features.
Now all of a sudden they start flaming a by far finished product, just
beacuse of a video, and some driving experience of not finished product.
Come on - were does the video show that this is arcade ?? Just because it
looks great doesn't have to mean it's arcade....
How do you think GPL felt when it was only 65% finished ?? Perfect ?

I still believe 100% in this game, and the West Brothers. I'm certain that
it is gonna be christmas twice this year :)

You're absolutely right, it's just my fear that they'll be pressured into
making it a more mass market product. Empire will realize that with those
graphics they have a serious winner in their hands, unless it's too hard
(/realistic).
And somehow I just feel like their approach has changed a bit.
I just hope I'm wrong, wouldn't be strange since my feelings are based on
totally nothing.

One thing I'm sure on is that we won't see it before the end of this year.
65% is still a long way from complete, especially with only a two men team.

You're saying you don't enjoy GPL's physics?  What kind of *** are
you, anyway?  :)

For the last time.....difficulty is not realism!!!

That's absolutely true, but enjoyable isn't either. To me enjoyable physics
are like Nascar of SCGT. GPL physics are just plain realistic.

No matter how much they "dumb it down", as you seem to think they will,
the basic building blocks of a solid sim are there.  The tire model
alone is top-notch and wouldn't be out of place in a PhD thesis.  From
an e-mail discussion with Chris West about the existing and planned
physics code, I get the feel he and his brother are very committed to
this sim, and even if marketing forces dictate the final "skin" that is
applied to the product, I bet he would sneak a few editing tools onto
the internet to show his creation in its full glory.

Have a little faith

Right on. I once saw a movie from GPL from the development stage. It
looked like crap. I saw this movie after GPL had been released for
months, so I knew how the end result was, but if I had seen that movie
before the release of GPL, I also would have thought that GPL would be
a stupid arcade game with old cars as a gimmick.

When I read the first previews about GPL I also thought that it would
just be a Indycar clone with old cars purely as a gimmick.

WSC looks like the most promising racing sim in history, after reading
all the reports and interviews with the programmers, but from the
beginning I've been sceptical about WSC and I will remain
so until I read the first reports and played it myself.
Too many letdowns lately, with Sos37, Lemans, and all the other crappy
racing games which got out hopes very high with all the promises.

Oddly enough, you can produce a product faster with fewer people than with
more.  Comes down to politics and shouting matches, but two brothers sit down at
their computers and one says, "hey, what if we try this?" - The other replies:
"Sounds good to me...Go with it !" - I think you can visualize the other senario
without my help.  ;)

Cheers!

Ejoyable, as in "I had a ***y good time driving the hell outta' that damn car
around Monza!"

BTW, I also *enjoy* driving the hell outta' my car at Monza in GPL.  ;)

Cheers!

Slightly off topic:

This also applies to other situations. For example, in an autocratic
system the decisions can be swift and therefore effective; the only
problem is that they reflect the view of a single person and may only be
of profit to the person in charge. Democracy may always take a longer
time to reach a solution, but the solution much better reflects the
views of the whole society.

That's one of the reasons why the military must act in a strict
hierarchy to be effective, while any country is in general better of
with a democratic system.

Incredibly off-topic:

I agree that democracy is the "least bad" of the solutions. But
nowhere ideal... Democracy often also results in "half-solutions".
Choosing for a compromise often results in something that doesn't work
at all.

Or just imagine that everything would be decided by referenda.
Aaaaaargh :-)

Our government has decided to do a referendum about the
administration. Contains questions like "should our administration
work independently and effective?" I mean: what's the sence of asking
people to give opinions about things they don't know anything about??
