Talk about some amazing resolutions.  That new openGL patch allows my TNT to
show this game at 1280x1024 resolution!!!  The framerate is still showing up
above 30FPS (outside car)

The guys at Papyrus have already said that due to no optimization by Nvidia,
their in car framerate is only in the ***s.. due to the mirror not being
handled well with Nvidia's drivers.

The outside car view is simply AMAZING!!!  no voodoo 2 SLI could ever get up
to this resolution.  You can see EVERYTHING with the greatest detail and I'm
STILL not at the highest resolution I can go... my monitor keeps me from
going any higher.

TNT owners!!! you have GOT to get this patch.  The user interface needs work
(due to STB drivers this time), but as long as you know where everything
'should be' you can find the options-resolution and go on up to 1280x1024.

The quality is just too crisp compared to a voodoo card.  The colors are
REAL colors, not that washed out look.  I have both a voodoo and a TNT and I
only played on the voodoo because of the great speed I get... and the 3D
effects.  But now with this OpenGL patch, I get enough speed to enjoy it,
and ALOT better quality.

1600x1200 is VERY detailed.  Too bad your monitor won't handle it.  It
starts out in the <10 area, but picks up to >20 once the cars get going.
VERY nice.

I agree with everything you say.  I just finished a couple of laps at the
"Ring" at 1280x1024 outside view and never saw the counter get below 34 when
running by myself and never below the high 20s even in traffic, except at
the start. (p2 400)  I'm also switching back and forth between the V550 and
a Monster 2, and even though the M2 shows higher in-cockpit frame rates, the
V550's rendering seems to be less "jittery" even at its lower rates. (high
30s for the V2 compared with low to mid 20s for the TNT) Don't know if the
card had anything to do with it, but right after installing the TNT drivers
I promptly knocked more than a second off my best time at Spa, and beat my
best at Monza by a couple of tenths. Besides this, the V2 suffers mightily
in comparison to the TNT, even at the same resolution.

Thanks to Papy for this gift, and let's push to get the mirror rendering
problem fixed.  When it is, boy oh boy!  I've been pondering going SLI with
my V2, but I think I'll wait--maybe permanently.

Meant to say the V2 suffers mightily *in appearance* when running at the
same res.  And by "mightily" I mean that just about anyone seeing the two
side by side with everything set the same will most assuredly say the TNT
rendering looks better--it's really pretty easy to tell.

Awe come on here. 800x600 on a 21in monitor is plenty high enough. 16x12 is
just silly and starts showing the poly lines too much.

Guess I am just lucky that I don't know what a poly line is.  There is
nothing showing at 1600x1200 that distracts from the view.  Just detail and
color.  Why run the res. so low (800x600) on a 21" screen?  Doesn't that
look a little " Nintentoish "?  Just asking.

While the frame rate is " acceptable " at 1600x1200,  I prefer the 1024x768
setting.  And at this setting,  and at any other,  the colors with the TNT
look much better than with the Cl VD2.

Ok, with all this talk, let's post some screen caps folks!  Does the
PrtScreen function work with the OpenGL patch?  If I can be convinced, I
might consider a TNT card with my Christmas money.
