F1RS+Win98+3dFX=black screen

greetings:

Seems my server crashed so if this is a repost I humbly apologize.

I installed F1RS on my new 350MHz system with 64 mb and Windows 98 pre-installed
on the machine.  I'm using a Diamond Viper 330 and a Diamond Monster 3D II
for video cards.  I'm also using Creative Labs Awe 64 as a sound card.
Everything works fine in other 3dFX games.  For F1RS though, I install
fine but when I start the program I get the whirling 3dFX logo, then a
fade to the Ubisoft logo which is really distorted then a fade to black
and then  nothing.  Ctrl-Alt-Del allows me to end task and return to the
desktop.

So can any of the wise sages out there assist me?  Please post here and/or

thanks

Try patch version 1.09, it should resolve the black screen problem.
