Problem: How do I install the univbe.drv (version 5.2)???
         Actually I use version 5.1a.
If I copy the new uvconfig.exe to my Indycar directory
and use the setup program to install UNIVBE, I can`t start
ICR2, because during the init phase I get the errormessage
         "wrong version".

Please help me

Thanx in advance

Mike

Im not sure if this the wat to do it but it seems to work for me.

Ive renamed the univbe.drv file in the ICR2 directory to univbe.bak
and then I load univbe version 5.2 and then run IRC2.

The frame rate increase is noticable

Just install the new UNIVBE TSR to load from your AUTOEXEC, and delete the
UNIVBE.DRV from your IndycarII directory.  Looks like ICR2 will use an
existing VESA driver if it doesn't find one in its own directory.

All the best

Start Univbe 5.2 from your Autoexec.bat when you first boot up. ICR2 will
use it rather than the version (5.0?) that comes with ICR2.

Just run UNIVBE 5.2 first, when ICR2 boots up(leave 5.1a installed as
well in ICR2 setup), it still remains active in the background, thus you
can take advantage of its increased speed over 5.1a and still use the
linkable library!

Does this work with NASCAR 2.12 as well?

Sorry for the typo - I meant version 1.21 (how the heck did I get the 1's
and 2's inverted?)

Mike.
P.S. - NASCAR does't use the SCITECH linkable library so you don't have
to worry about overriding 5.1a, just run plain old 5.2 on its own and
boot up NASCAR 1.21 .It's too bad NASCAR couldn't make use of the
linkable library, it rules!  Indycar 2 flies with it!
