Video Cards and PCI 2.1 Compliancy

    Okay, I have a question here.  It's a little off-subject, but I
can't seem to get an
answer anywhere else........  I put in a new Diamond Stealth II video
card in my 2-year old IBM Aptiva over the weekend. It was a real bear
getting Win95 to start the first time and installing the drivers. (It is

SO ignorant to not have use of your CD drive in Safe Mode). Anyway, that

being in the past, the card is working fine.
My question here is this: the minimum requirements on the box say that
the card REQUIRES a PCI 2.1 Compliant slot. Well, I found a small
utility called pciinfo.exe that checks, and this machine has a 2.0
Compliant slot. Like I said, the card is working just fine, it's VERY
fast. Does anyone know of any issues I will face because of not having a

PCI 2.1 slot? Or is this nothing to worry about since it's working okay?

E-mail me if you don't mind.

To the best of my knowledge you may not get the full "speed" benefit of
the card in a non-PCI 2.1 machine.  There are some extra DMA transfer
and other bursting control in the 2.1 PCI over the 2.0.  Otherwise I am
unaware of any "pit-falls" from running it in a 2.0 machine.
