GameSpy reports:

"With over 30 global championships, players can compete in events on 56
racing circuits from around the world. It's on these world famous circuits
that Race Driver 2 will demonstrate its completely new physics model,
deformation damage system, graphics engine and AI."

So - any insights as to whether it will live up to these claims???

Race Driver 1 (like CMR) was a great gamepad game that I found highly
entertaining on the xbox, but there's really nothing sim like about it
at all.  It was marketed similarly to Race Driver 2 so I'm guessing
they haven't changed much.

I've got Race Driver 1 for PC and tested it out for the PS2.
Found that even with a gamepad it was VERY difficult to control the
steering, which really ruined the whole experience.

It's got a lot of cars and tracks and wonderful graphics, but the car
control was so impossible that caused me to remove it from my hard
drive after about 2 weeks!

Anyone know if the car control was better with an Xbox than a PS2 or
PC ???

As for Race Driver 2... After getting burned with the first title,
i'll wait and see what the folks here, and the critics on the various
game-review sites have to say about it.

They (Codemasters) are saying they've listened to all the negative comments
about TRD and that TRD 2 will be a properly sorted PC game (still can't
bring myself to say TOCA nd Simulation in the same sentence).

Check out their forums (http://community.codemasters.com/forum/) but I'm
personally waiting to see a demo of both TRD2 and CMR 04 for the PC. I'm
hoping no one will preorder either of them to give Codies a bit of a kick
for their very poor efforts on CMR3 and TRD for the PC.

Don't know about PS2, but it was definitely better on the Xbox than on a PC.
Not as easy to control as PGR2, but still not bad, almost as good as PGR1.
