How can I get two-axis mode enabled for the pedal unit under XP? The
Sidewinder software (which is the official way to do it) won't install under
winXP (wouldn't install under Win2K either, but for some reason, the pedals
worked fine as spearate-axis under 2K).

Any help would be appreciated. I just have a problem racing with a combined
brake/accelerator :)

Have the same whee... while I can't say about xp...win 2k apparently had a
generic driver built in...however it is hard to calibrate...if MS doesn't
eventually come up with updated drivers etc they will lose my business as soon
as I have any major problem...I had several games that I had to give up (N99)
becaues the damn wheel wouldn't work in 2k...good luck

I have the generic driver, and the wheel works using that driver. I just
can't get the brake and pedal to map to separate axes (even though the
calibration routine would allow it - the gas translates as +x, and the brake
as -x right now; I want to change it so the gas translates as x, and the
brake as z.)

I run this wheel without drivers and get split axis - just plug it in and
it's detected as a "hid compliant game controller" and asks for the Win cd.
Has worked fine now for a year.

Works fine in both XP and 2k with the latest Sidewinder software...

How did you get the software to install? I can't get it to install at all,
and Microsoft officially says it will not install under wind2K or XP

I plugged it in, got the HID-compliant game controller driver, and I only
get single axis support for the pedals. Under win2K I got split axis, but
not under XP.
