I turned the mirror settings down. The mirrors update every 8th frame. With
this setting, i get 36 FPS during race at Monza (In car view, 19 AI cars,
640x480), except for at the starting grid, with fps around 30. With the same
settings, the V2 SLI never exceeded 30 fps.
During training I get a steady 36 with all details on (except mirrors) in
every resolution (my screen doesn't cope with res higher than 1152x862)
I have done no special adjustment except for that mirror thing. Well, -
almost.
I've set the card to use block transfer when using OpenGL.
I use Nvidia 3.68 reference drivers.
The card is a Creative Annihilator Pro (the one with DDR Ram). It is not
overclocked.
The rest of my system consists of a PII350, 192 Mb Ram and SBLive soundcard,
If GPL is your primary choice, I think you should consider buying a V3. It
is cheaper than a Geforce, and I find it hard to believe that it is any
slower than the Geforce when playing GPL. If I was to choose all over again,
knowing what I now know about the Geforce (I struggled getting it to work
properly), I certainly would have considered a V3 myself.
