CTFJ and LWFF problems

by Vinto » Thu, 10 Jun 1999 04:00:00

I just downloaded ctfj (the latest version) and can't get it to work with the
Logitech Wingman FF wheel. I do what the readmy says and when I check the
joystick control panel afterwards, my calibration is so messed up that the
wheel won't do anything anymore. The test screen shows the wheel full right
and both pedals pegged out, nothing happens when I move anything. I have to
uninstall the wingman software and remove everything related to wingman from
my regestry and reboot to get the wheel to work right when I reinstall the
wingman software. I've unchecked the autocal button and am using seperate axis
for the pedals. I have the wheel in USB, does it have to be in the serial port
to work right? How do you get it to work???

Go to www.wingmanteam.com and download ClrCalib and DXTweak.
Run ClrCalib.
Add your LWFF again.
Run DXTweak and 'reset defaults'
Now CTFJ should work...

Also, don't forget to delete the file CTFJ.DAT in the directory where
CTFJ3 was installed. Usually, that's \Program Files\StickWorks\CTFJ3.
That gets rid of any bad calibration data that CTFJ might have
collected during the initial try. I put file on my site that gives the
procedure in some detail. Look for TN0001.ZIP on the Files page.
