THE SOLUTION:

Download DXTweak.exe from www.wingmanteam.com
run it
press 'reset defaults'
exit
and then CFTJ works perfect!
At least on my system, but I guess it should work with your systems
too.

Thanks Andre - after giving up after 2 hours of messing this worked for me
too. Still need the profiler disabled though.
