Anyone help? AMD users

Ok. I'm havin trouble getting any fps with an AMD-K6-2/366, 64 megs of RAM,
24x CD-Rom, 16 Meg PCI Banshee.   I get about 18-20 with everthing turned
off except the essentials to drive with.  I have track drawn on 1, skids on
low, Replay on 1, Res is 640, and NO AI CARS. And I still only get 18-20
down the straightaways at Indy. That's with no outside graphics and in turns
it 12-15 fps. Grandstands, billboards, etc. I have only the essentials on.

It's even worse on line. 8 fps with 6 cars at Indy. Horrible. Anyone else
having problems?

System:

AMD-K6-2/366
64 megs of RAM
24x Cdrom
9.6 gig hd
16 meg. Banshee latest drivers, d/l'ed yesterday
Piece of chit Sound card that came with comp.
Directx6 installed.

Could the sound card be the problem? or the vid card? or is it just a POS?

Im gonna get a V3 2000 and a Diamond MX300 tomorrow. (Best Buy closed today
because of Cane)    Unless you guys think it's a waste of money.

Help would be appreciated.   Thanks!!!

The Banshee sucks, and I think you have a 66Mhz mobo. That would be more of
a problem than the sound card, I would think. Save the cash, get a 100Mhz
mobo, with pc100 ram, and dump the banshee and it should rock. That is what
I have and I can run GPL just fine. I don't.... but I can....
