Voodoo2 to Voodoo3 upgrade: a little problem.
I have upgraded from V2 (Diamond Monster 3dII) to V3 3000 and I
am having a little problem with GPL and Nascar3. The gamma is
too dark. It seems the gamma sliders are not working with glide
options while is working well with desktop option.
I founded it a great utility, powerstrip, but is this the only
solution? or should I reinstall both games?
Another question: wich options should I set in 3dfx Tweaks (in
display properties of Win98).

Reagards and thanks in advence.
Alemira.

Everyone with V3's seems to find GPl a bit dark and no effect from the
gamma sliders.  All the tweaks should be off (unchecked) and image
quality on auto.  Unless you want to run gpl 1.0 above 800x600.  Then
check the limit textures to 2mb box.  But the 1.2 patch is a better
solution.

Just set the gamma the other way around.... Adjust your monitors brightness
so GPL looks ok... Then use the V3 sliders to make the Windows desktop less
bright....

: Hi Almemira

: I have a voodoo 2 12 mb & am thinking of upgrading to a voodoo 3 3000 AGP. I
: have a 466 clery O/C to 525.

: Have you seen much of a performance inprovement with the V3 over the V2?

Banshee->V3 on a celery at 458 and I saw almost no improvement for GPL
(despite claims from various people that it was ever so much better).

I'd save my money for the moment if I were you - unless you have a non
GPL requirement for graphics power.

Weird .. I went from V2 12MB to V3 2000 AGP and was able to move from 8x6 to
10x7 resolution without touching the other graphics settings. That was with
a lowly P2/300. I've since upgraded to P3/638 (o/c'ed) and now I run 10x7
with _everything_ on, incl. mirrors.

I recommend the voodoo upgrade.

Do it like we others do:
Crank up the brightness - inconvenient, I know.

I had a Voodoo2 8Mb and, yes, I have noted a great improvement.
Now I can race off-line at 1024x768.
My system Pentium II 333MHz with 128Mb.

The bright problem, continue... :(

I have the same problem.  My monitor is already on the brightest setting...no
good.  I think I need another monitor.  But, GPL is the ONLY game I have this
problem with.
