ICR2 (Cart) w/Verite-2200

I am unable to get Cart Racing (Indy Car Racing 2) to run correctly with my
Hercules Thriller-3D (Rendition Verite-2200) in MS-DOS or a DOS window. I've
tried the patch to trick the game into thinking that I still have a
Verite-1000 but it either locks up or the***pit display is all messed up!

My question is will the Windows version of Cart Racing run with the
Verite-2200? I don't have the windows version but I could purchase it for
$19.99 from my local software store.

Thanks for any info,

Sal V.

As I understand it, CART Racing has no fixes from the Verite 2X00
problem.

To fix the***pit/mirrors problem you need the updated SPD3D.UC file
from Bjorn's 3D World (http://www.racesimcentral.net/). There is also a
BAT file routine at Bjorn's that double boots ICR2 to get it to run.
However, you will find that there is an annoying fuzzy band on the
horizon with the Anti-Aliasing ON (ALT - A). IMHO, it destroys the
incredible view of ICR2 Rendition to turn the Anti-Aliasing Off. Things
look like N2 - yuk!

I tried the Diamond Stealth II 3D (Rendition Verite 2100). I decided to
go back to a Canopus Total3D (Rendition Verite 1000L). The Total3D was
the best Verite 1000 card -- fastest RAM with latest, overclocked Verite
1000 chip. I got one for $24 bucks in an auction from ONSALE!.

The trade off with the Verite 1000L versus Verite 2X00 on my Pentium
233MMX is about 5 FPS in GPL. I see no meaningful difference in N2 or
ICR2.

I believe the rendition version will have to run in dos. Certainly you
should be able to run ICR2 non-rendition in win95.

Use the patch from bjorn site to get it to run in dos.  The newer cart
version does not recognize the Thriller at least in my system.

yeah and if you have ever gotten the Rendition version working, then you
will NEVER want to
drive the flat win95 version.
The keys to working with my V2100 Diamond Stealth II (which should also
work with your Herc.)
was a dos boot, run the batch file that starts the game, then exit the game,
the batch file then copies the newer spd3d.uc file provided at bjorn's 3d
website.  restart the game and it should be good to go.
