For CART simulation: CPR or ICR2 (Cart Racing)

Since it's been since Nov'97 when CPR was released, what is the more popular
"sim" for CART Racing?  I installed CPR for the first time in a long time,
applied all the recent patches and stuff that I could find, and still
couldn't stand it.  It;s been even longer since I have had ICR2 installed.
Are lots of patches and mods available to "modernize" ICR2 to today's
tracks, driver, cars, etc?  If so, could you provide me with some links?
Thanks in advance.

ICR2 is still the best CART sim. It's also known as CART Racing now.

I tried both just a few days ago and today I think both suck bad. I guess
I'm uses to 3d acceleration and high resolutions. Though the best CART
Racing game I have played was Sega's CART Racing for the Dreamcast! Its a
shame no one can make a decent CART sim for the PC. I say we raid Papy's
offices and hold them at gun point til they make a new CART Racing sim! :)

Art,

You would think that Papyrus would use the gpl physics engine to
develope a Cart sim. It's a shame that all of their current projects are
strictly Nascar related.

Lately, I'm starting to hate this form of racing just because of that...
