Verite + P90 in N2 / ICR2?

by David Ript » Sun, 02 Mar 1997 04:00:00

My second machine has a Pentium 90 in an old Neptune-chipset
Intel Plato board with an old PCI ET4000/w32p card.  I'm
considering putting a Verite-chipset card (probably the
Intergraph, as it's the cheapest and bundles ICR2) in that
computer, but I don't know if it'll perform well enough
given the relatively slow processor and old motherboard.  (I
assume that the motherboard handles DMA badly and that I'd
end up running the "safe" versions of games rather than the
"fast" versions.)

Anyone running N2 / ICR2 Verite-accelerated on similar
hardware?  How's performance?

Thanks.

I have an Intense 3D 100 running on a Gateway P90 (same chipset and
mobo).   I can run Indy Car Racing II and Nascar II using DMA with no
problems (the frame rate in ICR2 is at constant 25 thru 30 fps).
