N2 and Verite 1000 problems

A friend bought the Screaming 3D (verite 1000) when on "sale" for $99 which
came bundled with the verite version of Nascar 2.  He says it runs at about
one frame/sec when in verite mode on his P233MMX.  Anyone know the likely
causes?  A quick check of the Sierra and Rendition sites didn't illuminate.
TIA.

Try running it from rendma.bat or from nasrend.exe with the -dma
switch.

You could also add the -4 switch to run with 4 bit colors.

He may not be running it using the DMA command (nasrend.bat, or
renddma).

...running it in DOS-only mode may help a great deal as well.
