PC Power Play magazine in Australia have rated GPL as the 5th best
game of all time.

The other racing sims to make the top 50 list were

GP2 - 11th
TOCA 2 - 18th
Colin McRae Rally - 27th

Games were rated on historical significance, influence on games that
followed, inovation in gameplay and technology and how much fun they
are to play.

In case you're wondering Quake came in at number one.

Wow, great, I didn't expect such an objective and clever decision from
a game mag!
Can you give us the whole top 10 please? Very curious. Allthough I
don;t really like Quake myself, it indeed had a very big influence on
3d shooters, so I feel it's a fair number one.
For me personally GPL would be number one ofcourse.

The top ten are

1. Quake
2. Age of Empires II
3. Thief: The dark project
4. Falcon 3.0
5. GPL
6. Master of Orion 2
7. Doom
8. Ultima Underworld - The Stygian Abyss
9. Harpoon
10. The Last Express

Being a racing sim and first person shooter *** I've got to admit
that I don't know much about some of these games but it's a good
spread of game types.

Based on the informations in different media(newspapers,internet ***
sites,TV,...) I could have very well missed GPL,the best game in the world
and this gives me a cold sweat.I would never immagine that a driving game
could be such realistic and I can`t immagine what could be changed to
improve it,besides the graphics.

They forgot any LucasArts titles also ??? Hmm.. PC Gamer rated Tie Fighter
and X-Wing in their top5 of all time.
