Yikes! Sorry about the non FF Ferrari wheel comment. It's not listed on
their web site and I heard nothing about it. But if guys own them, they
must exist. Just not available in North America I guess.
There is a Nintendo version called a Shock. I know this because when I
ordered my Ferrari FF, they sent me the Shock Wheel instead. As soon as I
lifted the brown shipping box, I knew something was wrong. It only weighed
about 5 lbs. I was disappointed, but Guillemot sent the right wheel out next
day delivery and arranged pick up of the old wheel. I haven't seen the non
FF version, but Shock looks like the Ferrari FF. If you looked at a picture
of both, it would be hard to tell the differece in the quality of the
wheels. But in fact the spokes, though they are the same design, are a
cheaper looking and thinner plastic on the Shock than on the Ferrari FF. The
grip of the wheel is plastic rather than ***, it has no stick shifter
and the pedals are totally different. The Ferrari FF spokes do not look
cheap. I know this is subjective, but I'm not the kind of guy that thinks a
big, blue Elvis on Velvet*** on a wall is first class stuff. I think
that if someone saw a Ferrari wheel that was for the PC, and the spokes
looked cheap, then maybe the non FF Ferrari uses the same spoke
material/paint as the Shock. I can't find a picture of the non FF Ferrari
on any of Gmot's sites, so it's up to someone who owns one to let us know
how they look. Maybe someone in the UK can go to EB (or some other store)
and look at them both and let us know how they compare.
Let's see, Guillemot in French is pronounced Geemo, right?
