Guillemot Ferrari Wheel or Logitech Formula Force?

Both wheels have good reviews. The Guillemot has a shift lever and paddles,
as well as gas and brake on the wheel as well as pedals. The Logitec doesn't
have a stick shifter. The pedals are supposed to be much better on the
Guillemont Ferrari wheel. All that said, you might also look into the Act
Labs Force (revised one) and RS Shifter. For Win98 you won't need any
special drivers other than those that come with the wheels and DirectX for
any of the wheels. There are reviews on all 3 wheels.

Guillemot Ferrari Wheel or Logitech Formula Force?

by B » Thu, 16 Dec 1999 04:00:00

I'm debating now whether to get the Guillemot Ferrari Force Feedback
wheel or the Logitech Formula Force.

Since I'm in Canada the lowest prices I've found for each differ from
each other by about $30 CDN with the Guillemot being the pricier
wheel.

I plan on playing arcade type racing games (like NFS4 or Driver) so
which one would you guys recommend?

Also, is there a question of compatibility with future games with
either wheel? Do I have to depend on the manufacturer to provide
updated drivers or is it built into DirectX?

Thanks for your help.

What is revised and how can you tell when ordering one?

THanks.

The paddles are now a T-Shaped design that is MUCH better than the oval
design previously implemented. If you order it now... you will have the
revised version.

Cheers,

Shumi

P.S. The paddles were the main thing that I disliked about the wheel when I
reviewed it some months back. Act Labs took notice, and changed the design.
Now it's even better than it was before.
