serious/fatal flaw - the F1-style shifter levers are as flimsy as a
butterfly's wing. Didn't even last 3 laps of the 'Ring in GPL. Very
disappointing.
Anybody else have this wheel and the same problem?

Similarly disappointed.
Right "Up" paddle lasted 7 days. Left "down" paddle about 5 more. Spoke to
Guillemot netherlands and they had not heard of such problems. The newsgroup
discussions like this which I then referred to could have been initiated by
anyone (the competition). They told me to take the wheel back for a new
one - suspect same will occur. I'll keep going back until they want to *fix*
it.
Rest of the rig seems good. But since I've had the thing only a few weeks,
and it's already failing, there is no way I could be recommend it.

Yes, slightly. Also, some people (like myself, I think) are generally easy
on equipment. Still, they shouln't break even with normal hard use. They do
have a stopper, but the paddle (internally) flexes (bends) before it hits
the stop. Hopefully Guillemot will start making the paddles with larger
***holes and not tightening the screws so much. I know they are listening
to the customers. The first wheels didn't have problems, I think, but people
wanted stiffer paddles. Gmot listened, but when they stiffened them, they
ended up breaking because of the flex. I think their next attempt was to
pack the paddle area with foam. It helped, but didn't cure the problem and
the paddles didn't feel as good either. I believe they are trying, but
sometimes these things just take time to get done.
