   yeah that is the correct keypresses, but don't keep hitting the keys.  
It takes about a second to display.

Or you could download and run Fraps in the background.  You can download it
here: http://www.fraps.com/  It's a small program that works with just about
every game/sim.  It'll display FPS in whichever corner of the screen that
you choose.
