Voodoo2 and N2 3D fx patch

by Johnie18 » Sat, 21 Mar 1998 04:00:00

I just purchased a Voodoo2 card to use with the N2 patch file.  Does anyone
know what the best settings are to get the best picture and *** experience?
Id appreciate any help with the batch file settings.

Thanks,
Johnie

Yeah. I think you need to use the rendition DMA version with a rendition
card :-)

Not wanting to be a downer but I would have to agree. I have both a
V1000 Rendition chip and a 12Mb Voodoo2 and the Rendition version is
IMHO much better. You have to remember that Papyrus originally coded
N2 to work with the Rendition chips and the 3Dfx is a afterthought.

I think the Rendition chipset is one of the most underrate (read
undersupported) pieces of hardware out there. Granted it does not have
the outright speed of Voodoo but it kicks arse in graphic quality.
When was the last time you needed to run a game at 60fps anyway.......
I got my V2 to  run F1RS and don't get me wrong, I love it but it is
not THAT much faster or graphically better than the 2yr old Rendition
version of ICR2....

Long and the sort. If you don't have a rendition get the patch, if you
do don't worry about it, wait for N3.
