Only a handful compared to the first race, and I think there was only
one caution.  It wasn't nearly as interesting because everyone was so
spread out, and the setup wasn't exactly accomodating.

The best part of the race was Dave running out of gas as he came out of
turn 2 on the last lap.  Not only did I get my lap back as he ran out of
gas, but I also got to the finishline ahead of him on the next lap.

My LPI is not above 20 with the help of both of today's races.

The best part? :-)

I had a 15 sec lead and supposedly had enough gas but even with taking it
easy the last few laps, I still ran out with about a half a lap left.

The reason I couldn't pit was because BFarmer was on the lead lap with me.
He pitted twice during the first yellow and may have gottern fuel the second
time (not sure) so he had just that tiny bit more than me. Either that or he
simply burned less fuel during the race. If I had pitted I could of gotten a
safe second but I decided to go for the win instead. It was fun, and I don't
regret it.

For anyone who cares or who has similiar problems with freezes, I finally
solved my screen freeze issue. I had 320 megs of ram with 2 128 sticks and 1
64 meg stick. I took out the 64 megs and put in a new 128 (now 384 total)
and didn't have one freeze at all today. Problem solved it seems.

same thing as me...I swapped out the memory chip and got rid of the
freezes...there ought to be a way to diagnose bad memory...

Sorry for missing yesterday's races.  I went to see my football team, Notts
County, avoid relegation to the bottom division in English football.  After
the relief of avoiding the drop I was too hyped up to feel like racing.
I'll be back on track next week I hope.

Hi Dave,

it doesn't have to have been a bad memory chip.

You know how a mobo will be using the fastest bank interleave scheme with
just two sticks in and get slower with a third stick in. It could be that
with a third stick of a different size put in, and perhaps different timings
as well, the RAM access just got a lot slower overall.

Anyway David, I'm glad you found the prob and could fix it.

In one of the leagues I race in, one of the fellows had a similar problem.
His machine would lock up, but only when running GPL.
He solved the problem when he went to :

www.simmtester.com

He downloaded DocMemory and it showed a bad module. He got a new one and
viola! no more lock ups.

I probably won't be making these in the future anymore,
fwiw...........working six days a week, and coming home from work on
Saturday to join a race soon after getting home is pressing things a bit :)
