AFAIK, there is no such way. (Heck, it won't work for NASCAR either
unless you have a real NetWare server - what a load of old cobblers!)

One possible suggestion was to get two null-modem cables, one for each
machine, to loop a serial port back to the other, then write a TSR to
take the bytes coming in to the non-F1GP port and snd them out over
ethernet, and take bytes off ethernet and send them to the F1GP port.
And no, I'm not volunteering to write the TSR, and yes, it does sound
horribly complicated.

There is a thing called Internet Head-to-Head that allows you to play a
game that uses a modem, over the Internet.  I was originally developed
for Air Warrior but has since been used for many other games.  You can
find more info at by ftping to cactus.org.

That's only for people connecting to the net over a modem line (eg.
via SLIP). It's no good to those of us who have real ethernets at
home and still have to move the computers within null-modem-cable
distance of each other to play. *sniff*

Let's hope Geoff Crammond adds it in v2 - IPX or TCP/IP, a la Doom.

Speaking of v2, there was a brief news article in PC Zone this
month which says that v2 will be out this Autumn (Fall), and a
motorcycle game ("Super Bike Grand Prix") will follow using the
same basic game engine next Xmas.
