Due to the popular demand, we have revamped the championship and opened it
up to anyone interested. If you would like to be added to the general
mailing list, drop me a note. The call for results, results and gnereal news
items about the championship will always be posted to the R.A.SIM however,
so if your newsreader is timely, you won't miss a thing.

INTERNET WORLD CIRCUIT/FORMULA ONE GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIP RULES
PACKAGE(Do not confuse this championship with the America On-Line one)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
FINAL RULES PACKAGE

1. To participate in the Internet WC/F1GP championship, you need....

-A copy of Microprose's World Circuit or Formula One Grand Prix
(Yes, they are the same game!)

-The version number must be 1.04 or 1.05(If you have a previous number,
the update can be found via FTP at FTP.UWP.EDU in the
pub/msdos/games/uml/patches/ directory as F105PTCI.ZIP

-Access to an Electronic Mail account(E-Mail)on the Internet.

2. How does the competition work?

-The championship is open to anyone on the Internet who is interested.

-Each paticipant will print to file his  race and fastest

results will be tabulated.

-The fastest overall race time wins.

3. RULES:

-Each participant will set car performances to ALL THE SAME. This can be done in
the RACE options of the GAME  SETUP menu. If you have used the editor,
chances are this has screwed up this capability.
Simply set all teams to 720 manually with the editor and all drivers
to 1 in qualifying and 1 in race.

-Each participant will control one and only one car. The other 33 cars
will be computer controlled.

-Each participant must set the competition level to ACE. This can be done
in the RACE options of the GAME SETUP menu.

-Teams are allowed. If you belong to a team, please indicate you do by placing an *
next to your team name. A team may comprise of no more than 3 drivers.

-No driver aids are allowed. For most of you, you will not be able to
access them at ACE level but a few of you may have used the editor to
get by this restriction. DO NOT USE THE DRIVER
AIDS! Besides, the more aids you use the slower you go(Generally).

-Whatever is legal in the game is NOT ALWAYS legal in the championship.
In other words, you may NOT cut corners where possible, YOU MUST
stay on the track at all times! I can't enforce this rule, but if
i see a fishy time, rest assured you will be punished. Let's do
this game and the championship justice, keep it on the track!

-DO NOT set your races to be run under an entire season. We will not be
following the order of races found in WC/F1GP. Run your races as a
single race weekend.

-DO NOT have the computer run your race for you. Besides, you will find
your times about 5 to 10 minutes off per race.

-Race Distance must be set to 50% under the RACE options menu in the
GAME SETUP menu.

-Steering help and Traction Control are permitted. These can be altered
in the CONTROL menu of the GAME SETUP menu. They are "ON" by default. It
is your choice to use them or not.

-WET races are NOT allowed. Should you stumble upon a wet race, you must
start over.

-Once you start a race weekend, you may NOT(unless it is wet) restart it
because you had a bad run or DNF. I can not enforce this rule so please
do the rest of us justice by playing fair. Once you start,
complete the weekend.

-You may save your game at anytime during the race weekend. So long as
you do not restart your weekend, you can start and stop as you wish,
untill you complete the entire weekend.

-You must start the race from the last spot on the grid (the 26th). In other words, you are to
jump straight to the race and not qualify.

-You must save your game emediately after you cross the finish line.

-You must submit the saved game upon the request of our chief steward. This will not
be a regular occurence and will happen at random.

-Once you complete the weekend, go to the PRINTER MENU and print to file
the Race and Fastest race laps(for the whole grid, not the one lap records). You
must set the printer in the PRINTER SETUP
MENU under the GAME SETUP menu to "file". This will print everything
     to an  ASCII text file.

-the text files should all be appended to a single message containing
the description of the race and all the results.

-Please add a small text file describing your race. How many pit stops,
accidents if any, spins, exciting moments ie. General Highlighs of your
race. Please, no two page essays, just a few lines.

-DO NOT uuencode anything!! I won't read it if it's encoded.

-The results must be recorded and sent in by the deadline.
Results will not be accepted beyond the deadline.

-CHEATERS will get caught! If the chief steward suspects you altered results, fiddled
with the editor to get an edge and other *** things, he can pass judgement upon
examination of your saved game file. You have the right to appeal within 24 hours of the
decision. Your fellow competitors will then decide on the proper solution after hearing
both sides of the argument. The appeal  decision is final and binding.

-Your car setups are your business, do not share them with anyone if
     you don't want to.

-BE SURE TO ADD A * NEXT TO YOUR NAME. GO INTO THE TEAM/DRIVER
SELECTION MODE, CHOOSE YOUR NAME AND PUT AN* NEXT TO IT.

Great, I'm in. Now lets find me a team mate:

So, who'd like to join up with me? Really only seems to matter for the
final Constructors Championship anyway, or am I missing something?

Time to go and practice Spa...

Good Idea.  I think the PC owners are too scared to let us compete as we are
much better games players!
