LWFF steering problem

by Kees Folme » Mon, 15 Nov 1999 04:00:00

Hello all,

Here is my problem.

When I test my LWFF (game controlers, properties)
My steer (on the screen) is full to the left and my (real) wheel is in the
center.
When I turn my wheel to the right notting happens, on the end of my right
turn, my "screen wheel" turns full to the right.

The wheel turns good in GPL but
But games like Nascar, MGPRS, Driver not!
Then the wheel reacts like the test screen!
So my 'real' wheel is centered and when I hit the gas the car drives full to
the left, when I turn my 'real' wheel to the right I drive forward.

What have I done?
I bought CH pendals, so I had to change ID's of the controlers to let them
work.
Now Win. see the LWFF and the CH pendals (2 axis, 0 button joystick)
But the LWFF doesn't work well!

I have the last drivers of the LWFF (3.30)
Directx 7
The LWFF, USB.
CH pendals connected on the game port of my SB Live.

Need more? ask.

One suspect would be Directx 7.  I have the TM Pro pedals in game port and
all calibrates fine in N3, NL, DTR, SCGT, and GPL, with DX 6.1

There's a file at http://www.wingmanteam.com in the gadget section. It's
called the Clear Calibration Utility. Download and run that. What has
happened is your calibration got screwed up in the registry and no matter
how many times you try to calibrate it won't change until the info is
cleared from the registry. In the future ( I don't know if you did this but
it's what I suspect I did when I had the same problem) make sure you stay
well clear of the wheel when booting your computer.

My wheel runs fine in DX7 so that isn't it... I suspect the other guy is
right.

After the calibration util. the Wheel works perfect!!
Had (again) some trouble to let win. find my CH pendaals.
But after installing the HID -compliant game controller, the pendals works
fine too.

So Thanks.
