Is there a way to get decent headlights for SCGT...I seem to remember add-on
lites?  Speed sims is down again at the moment so I have not checked there
yet...

I don't remember them ever getting in-car headlights working for SCGT.
THEY DO HAVE WORKING HEADLIGHTS FOR the F1 2001 mods.  Spa at night is
downright spooky.

Spa in the *daytime* is downright spooky at times  ;)   Well, the old
(GPL) Spa anyway.

Having just bought SCGT for next-to-nuthin' ($ 5 or so) after reading
this group, must say it's nice (with the AOE 'full sim' on of course,
and AI set to hard), not quite GPL, but pretty close.

But it's got a flaw that shocked me every time (as in 'Ow! What
the...?'):  sometimes in turn three, the right-hander at Mosport, you
suddenly seem to get punted from behind when there's actually no-one
near you. Happens so fast you're off the track before there's time to
respond. It just snaps away from under ya.

Did they ever fix this? (I thought it was in 1.551, but no..) Pretty
annoying, it happened several times just when I was in the lead (grr).

Other than that, nice program though. Wet racing is pretty good too, but
night racing does need actual headlights...

if you just got the game..look for GAMMA's version of Donnington...the wet is
fabulous!!  When Speedsims is up to full speed again (going thru a move..)..
LOTS of new tracks with some nice ones coming out soon...

Hmm, how d'ya actually install a track? I wanted to try Knockhill, the
readme said 'just install into the Patch directory' and nothing else,
but no go: won't show up in the list, although I've got all 'normal' tracks.
I'm just running standard SCGT 1.551 (w/AOE), btw.

KNOCKHILL with a BTCC touring car is a blast.  Hammering over the curb at
the top of that little hill...great fun...
(my two favorite Touring car tracks were Knockhill and the short Brands
Hatch.)
{notice he's stalling, not answering the question...seems to remember there
was a small edit thing to do...but....mind...is mush...}
there are several files I think.  most go in the patch folder but some go in
the mas and dat folders.  Pretty much anything ending in .dat  or (I THINK!)
.scn goes to the dat folder, same with .mas it goes to the mas folder,
everything else into the patch folder.
I hope I haven't screwed that up too much...

Very simple actually if you have put in the BAN Scene patch...if not get
it...it allows you to just put things into the directories/folders (makes
adding tracks MUCH easier)...if you have it:  .mas files into the MAS
folder...any .bmp's to PATCH folder...other files to DAT folder...

The headlights in SCGT are non-functional.
