SCGT headlight problem

hi all
having a weird problem with scgt

v3 3000
win 98se
tried dx8 and 7
3dfx drivers 1.0666 & 1.070
SCGT ver 1.52 and 1.55 (fresh full install,cd still in drive)
directx or 3dfx mode

at night events,  headlights on
(checked with external camera views)
no illumination from the***pit
external views show small splash of light on the road in front from
headlights
changing gamma dosn't help
tho driving through smoke will light the world up :)

trackside lights do work ok.
opponent cars headlights seem to be the same as well

any suggestions appreciated
if a driver issue....a handy link to the file would b great
3dfx seem to only have the latest drivers at their site

thanx all

That's the way it is when using the***pit view. Turn off the***pit
and the lights work. Something to do with the fact that the original
SCGT had no***pit view.

This was a design flaw in SCGT.  Unless someone has done a workaround (I
haven't seen one) there is no solution.

Look around at http://www.racesimcentral.net/

It's a design issue with the game- nothing's wrong with your system.
Originally there was going to be no in-car view so they didn't code for
headlights to be shown like that.  When they added the incar we were stuck
with the current situation.

The only work-around that I know of is to turn the in-game
gamma settings up to the radioactive level, also brighten your monitor,
and even adjust your glide/d3d settings from within windows...
They never thought a***pit was a necessary item so they never coded
one in...the beta testers begged for one and thats why we have a 2d panel
slapped in there.  I didn't know about turning off the dash tho..even old
coots like me can still learn something now and then...

ps...write again and let us know how the no-dash lights on system works.

cranking the gamma does help
*eyeballs feel funny tho ;)*

but using onboard(no dash)
swingman
or trackside views
the only illumination i get from the car is the white splash in front of the
car which extends 1-2 meters seen from ext. views which dosent light the
road up at all( in a helpful way :)

i seem to remember racing at lime rock *once upon a time* with onboard view
& headlights working (yellowish light)
but maybe it was all a delusion :)
thanx

Well I WILL confuse you some....the light STILL didn't work in the
car..and thats all
that really matters right???  But Gunslinger put out in his service pak 3.0
a fix for GTS cars like the Viper and Porche's to run yellow lights.  I also
beleive he had a separate fix for
those yellow lights, but still only viewable externally.    He did find some
stray code
inside scgt that alluded to the possibility of lights...but nothing ever
came of it.
As far as the rash is concerned...you should be more careful where you
put that hand mister....;)
