Did someone mention that F1RS does not work well with the Cyrix processor?
How about CPR?

Don't know about CPR, but yes, F1RS will not work as well with a classic
6x86 processor due to the heavy FPU use required for the driver AI. I
don't know how well it performs on the 6x86MX. The main problem tends to
be in the first turns, where all the cars are trying to get through
together. The frame rate drops horribly, and your only option besides
losing control and slamming into someone or running off the track is to
wait for everyone to pass. If you're on pole and manage to beat everyone
to the turn, it's not so bad, and when the field spreads out, and the
race progresses, the performance is acceptable. However, when you're in
the middle of the pack, it's impossible to hold position. In training
and time attack modes, however, the game is quite fast and smooth :)
See http://www.f1racingsim.com/faq.htm for more specific details.
And I've no clue about CPR.

CPR won't work right with any processor :-) The AI and everything
else will still suck :-)

Well, it works for me (cyrix 166+, 3dfx, 32Mb RAM), although I experience
some slowdowns in the first lap of the race.
Also, but it sucks anyway.

I don't remember having any trouble, however, I think the Intel chip is in
my machine right now.
To be honest, I did have a little trouble with the Cx-233-M2 when using EDO
Ram, but not when the SDRAM was in.
If you're really seriously interested, I'll put the Cx back in and try it
out. The CPU supply has been a little short around here lately, (Ie, I use
an intel now).
I do have the patch installed, FYI. Let me know what CPU you're looking at
an I'll try one.
