During a 32 lap race at Indianapolis a big accident happened after just 2
laps. I enabled double file restarts for the first time, but it didn't
happen. I know there won't be double etc. with only 10 laps to ge (or less),
but shouldn't there be a double file restart with 30 laps to go? Is this a
bug? Anyone got it to work?

Hmmm...

Double-file restarts only count for the people who are one or more laps
down. It's not the main field who will go two-wide on the restart. They
stay behind the leaders in a line. So if all the cars were not a lap down,
the restart should happen single-file.

It could be that after only 2 laps on a 2.5 mile speedway there were no
cars a lap down. Those involved in the wreck were either out of the
race or repaired before being lapped.

My experiences with double-file restarts in N3 and NR1999 have shown it
to work quite well.

during the event, you'll only get a double file restart if there are some
cars a lap or more down. If everyone is still on the lead lap, you'll be
told to stay in the high line, and noone will be in the low line. So it'll
just seem like it doesn't work.

Hm, thanks for the answers guys. This solves my 'problem'. I didn't read
anything about this in the manual though. I have to say the manual isn't very
clear on a lot of things if you don't know too much about Nascar racing. For
instance: the passage about the Yellow flag. Let someone who has never heard of
Nascar racing read this, and he won't know what it means at all. I suppose
Papyrus only expects Nascar fans to buy the game, but I think they should give
more attention to newbies, as far as rules are concerned anyway. But I know
it's hard to explain something you know everything about, to someone who
doesn't.
