N3 Double File Restart

Just wondering if there is a bug in the game..

w/ 100% opponent strength I qualified 10 and was running 13th until the
caution came out at lap 45.  Everybody dives onto pit road for tires and
gas.  4 tires and a tire pressure adjustment in the left front because of a
push in the later stages of a run, I came out in 10th.
When the green comes out they black flag me for speeding down pit road. As
soon as I leave pit road the caution flag comes out again. At this point I'm
dead last with one lap down... I have double file restart checked in the
dialogue box, and the game wouldn't let me start up front on the inside like
the lapped cars are suppose to.

I was having a good time until this ***started..

 What's up Papy.

Joey,

How many laps were you from the end of the race?  NASCAR doesn't use
double-file restarts with 10 or fewer laps remaining.  Double-file restarts have
worked for me (when there are more than 10 laps remaining).  If there were more
than 10 laps left, you might want to mention which track you were on, etc.

Doesn't that penalty include going to the end of the longest
restart line?

I noticed one time, I was a lap down, dead last, there were ten cars on the
lead lap, but a considerable number of cars that were a lap down in between
the leader and second place.  A caution came out, I pitted with the leaders,
and due to a caution ten laps earlier when some other cars had chosen to
pit, most of the lapped cars stayed on the track, putting them ahead in line
of the lead car, and on the tail end of the lead lap.I was still a lap down.
With one lap to go, I moved to the inside like I was supposed to, but all
the cars on the tail end of the lead lap stayed on the high side.  So before
the restart I moved from last to tenth.

> Why are you complaining!?

The reason that I'm complaining is because I had a car capable of getting my
lap back......Under nascar rules with almost 300 laps to go. All cars that
are a lap down , may restart the race from the inside row, where lap cars
are suppose to.
Instead, I was about 20 cars back in the outside line.

With nascar2, if you were to get a lap down, it was almost impossible to get
your lap back.

I know I was just kidding I also had my share of those strange things
happening while under yellow...
In my case I got hit by a lapped car under yellow that came from nowhere !
That's something that hasn't been fixed since N2...

Joey Millard asked about N3 Double File Restarts...

I had the same problem until I waited until my spotter told me "not on the
lead lap...stay on the inside".  Then it was ok to drop down to the inside
line.  And my spotter said it after I crossed the s/f line right before we
went green.

If I dropped down as soon as my spotter told me "one more lap until green",
I was hollered at for passing under the yellow.

I had the same problem. My spotter kept telling me that I should stay on
the outside line even though I clearly should have gone to the inside
line... I wrote to papy about this and they replied to me that I did not
understand the rules or something to that effect...

The same goes for AI cars. They have their own rules. When the yellow
comes out, they can go into the pits right away even if your spotter
tells you the pits are no opened. If you go at the same time as the
other cars, you get the black flag and they don't.
