I can't believe it!!!  While playing Nascar Racing 1,it drove me nuts to
be down a lap and not be able to restart on the inside of the lead lap
cars to try and gain a lap back.  I was sure that Sierra/Papyrus would fix
this "major" bug with NASCAR Racing II but it was not to be.  I hate being
one lap down and restarting 30th because I pitted.  How bogus.  I
love this racing sim because it is so realistic but this really hurts
you when your racing for the championship.  C'mon Sierra, give us a fix
for this problem!!!

I would also like to see double file restarts with the option to place lap
cars on the inside or outside.

Hi Allen.

Not to mention no save game (!?), lousy Paintkit where you can't cut and
paste graphics from one car to another, no second day qualifying and DNQ's
like Adam had promised, etc...

But hey, at least you can still play the game - my copy (direct from
Sierra) arrived Tuesday, but I still don't have enough machine to run it!
Gimme another couple of weeks...

Oh yeah...guess who's got a ticket to Daytona with his name on it? ;)

Earl

P.S. One of my RASN buddies from Maryland will be paying a return trip to
Oahu sometime in late January - wanna get together?

Don't hold your breath. I don't expect we'll see double-file restarts, pit
stalls based on qualifying, or a Save Game option until NASCAR 3. I'm sure
that Papyrus will be diligent in fixing the blatant errors, but I wouldn't
count on seeing any new features in N2. Most of the effort seems to be
focused on the NRO and their new physics engine.

Call me naive, but I'm going to be optimistic and say that we will get
some sort of save game feature for N2.  However, for the rest, we will
get double-file restarts in N3 and pit stalls based on qualifying in N4.

So, Christmas 1997 for N3 and Christmas 1998 for N4? Or, following the
pattern of recent years:

Christmas 1997: Indycar 3
Christmas 1998: Nascar 3
Christmas 1999: Indycar 4
Christmas 2000: Nascar 4

Looking forward to all of them!

Stuart:

I share your optimism for save game and accurate restarts.  I really
share your optimism for Indycar3.  That is a sweet thought indeed!
Let's all hope OUT LOUD (you all know how to...) that they produce this
sim.

Your partner in anticipation,
Matthew Lewis

I hope the latter.  Let's see they have been working on a vintage
open-wheel sim.  This could come out mid 1997.  This means we should be
looking forward to a vintage stock car sim mid 1998.

Yeh, that's the ticket!  I like that...
