Is F1 2K Championship Season really better (graphics and fps, physics or AI)
than F1 2K or can you patch F1 2K to be about the same?

I was one of the biggest critics of F1 2000 when it came out and got into
some heated discussions in this group.  I felt everything with it was wrong
and it was a very unpleasurable to play.

I had very low expectations for F12000CS and didn't even bother to read any
reviews or comments made regarding it and the thought of downloading the
demo didn't even cross my mind.

Then a couple of weeks ago I bought a computer magazine and it had the F1CS
demo on the cover disk.  I still didn't bother to try it until I had a few
spare moments the other night and I decided to install it. Well, if the demo
is anything to go by the game has had a major overhaul.  The handling is
better, the graphics are smoother and clearer, the AI are better and the
whole game just runs better.  The races load up pretty quick now unlike the
eternal wait in F1 2000!

The demo only has Indianapolis, which is greatly improved, I don't know if
similar treatment has been dished out on the other circuits?

In conclusion, of course it is still no GPL, it is however acheiving similar
levels of realism, accesibility and enjoyment found in the SBK series.

Thanks, I usually play GP3, but reinstalled F1 2K to race at Malaysia. I
like to race the track that the real F1 series is at to get an idea of the
track layout.
I have seen F1 2K for sale (bargain bin) for $14.95 and F1 2K CS for $32.95.
I will try the F1 2K CS demo. I get confused as to which game is getting
better reviews, F1 2k, F12k CS, and now F1 RC and sometimes they are talking
about for Playstation.

I've seen F12KCS for only $24.95 CAD many times, you should be able to
get it even cheaper in the U.S.

Yes... Much better. Beautiful sound (esp. w/ 4 point surround), MUCH improved
framerates on my machine (P2-400, Voodoo3 3000, 128mb RAM), very intelligent AI
(customizable strength, agression), and with Bodin's All-Chassis Patch each car
has profound & intricate handling characteristics. It got me to all but stop
playing GPL for the time being, although it will never replace GPL. Get it man!
