Mac F1 CS 2k updater released!

F1 CS 2k 1.0.2 updater released.

From the read me:
*  Fixed bug which would cause graphics redraw with no textures.
*  Added support for HID compliant gamepads in Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar).
*  Improved handling of Wheels in Mac OS 9.2
*  Fixed compatibility issue with QuickTime 6.1

1.6 mb
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

I've had no problem despite what's been reported at VersionTracker.
Ah,.. but I still haven't installed QT 6.1 ;) Must install it now.

In other news, I was successfully able to add Estoril info from the F1
2k2 game.gdb to the F1 CS 2k game.gdb. No luck with the Road Atlanta
data (yet), though.

Dan,

Thanks for the news.

Feral seems to be moving pretty quickly on these issues. Good for them!
(I would get the graphics redraw problem everytime I went directly to
Replay from launch.) Sounds like they still need to deal with the Momo
problem in 10.2.3 .

Let us know what happens with QT 6.1.

What makes the Estoril in F1 2K2 different from 2K? What would it take
to get you to part with a copy of the fruit of your labors?

Jim

Thanks for the link Dan.

Umm... And this does what...? Add track data/info in the menu, I'm guessing?

(BTW, did you get Zandvoort to run now after reinstalling?)

SNIP!

10.2.4 due as early as next week, ATI has just listed new
(10.1.3-10.2.2)  drivers for the 9000.

http://pdownload.mii.instacontent.net/ati/drivers/mac-radeon9000-100.htm
l
And see coments at VersionTracker.
Think it's just for the new retail cards though. I'm holding off till
more is known.

Haven't tested enough, but MOMO feels marginally smother, centering
problem still very evident though.

Works fine after update ("Fixed bug which would cause graphics redraw
with no textures."), vis a vie QT 6.1

http://home.cablerocket.com/~waldroff/F1Links.htm   for the F1 2002
game.gdb (63 tracks total - includes GTR + Nascar) and NEWBIE GUIDE TO
F12002 (editing how-to). Thanks to Collin "Waldo" Waldroff.

"OTHER FUN EDITS": the Hungarian "TurboFerrari" VEH file (F03gpxa.veh,
also on it's way to you) which sets values like inertia, RPM, gearing
etc.

http://formula1.jatekok.hu/f1csutil_eng.shtml (editing utilities page)
They seem to be cutting out the F1 CS stuff. Can't find the
"TurboFerrari.zip" on any of the cars pages.

http://www.mach42f1.com/M42griptweak11.zip

is for the Turbo Mod for F1 2k2 (adds tire grip, reduces wing effects).
Has lots of editing info that could be used in F1 CS 2k .VEH files

These "OTHER FUN EDITS" may be of use in setting up F3000 or other era
F1 parameters (assuming we can change  cars/tracks from F1 2k2 to F1 CS
2k format via the various MAS editors on a PC, -I am so jonesing for
2k2 + the mods and to run GPL again -;).

Copy of my game.gdb on it's way to you (a bit long to post more than
the examples below). One problem: Under Quick race all cars are present
but first places on grid are empty!

Backup F1 CS 2k game.gdb.
Open  F1 CS 2k game.gdb copy and F1 2k2 game.gdb with BBEdit (or text
editor of your choice), scroll and compare!

Important bits: remember to rename drivers from 2k2 ->CS2k, pay
attention to location of { and }, read the comments (// some text here)
at the bottom of the F1 CS 2k gdb for help.

examples:

F12k2
Estoril
  {
    RaceLaps = 72
    Attrition = 22
    TrackName = Portugal, Estoril
    EventName = 1998 Grande Premio de Portugal

    LAP RECORD = Tantra, 1:21.750

and so on 206 lines total + circut setups, weather and etc. down at
bottom of gdb.

F1CS2k 48 lines +
F1_Circuit_Qualify_Times, F1_Circuit_Race_Times (eg: Estoril = 85.336),
F1_Circuit_AI_Qual_Setup and F1_Circuit_AI_Race_Setup (eg: Estoril=
default.svm), down at bottom of gdb.

  Estoril
