Force RS-NASCAR 3 Question

by Tazzi » Thu, 30 Sep 1999 04:00:00

I have gotten an Act Lab Force RS Wheel.

In NASCAR 3, everything works except the brake.  The brake pedal works in
the wheel setup in the control panel, but won't in NASCAR 3.

I see that it is the Y-Axis Down and the Gas is Y-Axis Up....

But N3 will only reconize the Gas pedal..

Anyone have any suggestions???

Thanks,

TAZ

I use the Force Rs with split axis with no problems at all.
the Calabrate 1 screen in N3 should be your wheel and your brake
the calabrate 2 screen is your gas, be sure and go through both calabrations
before
selecting the steering, gas, brake, etc....

hope this helps

Force RS-NASCAR 3 Question

by Tazzi » Thu, 30 Sep 1999 04:00:00

Hello,

Thanks for your reply...

My wheel, the calabrate 1 screen is the gas and the wheel and the calabrate
2 screen does nothing.

And on the wheel config. The when I set the gas pedal is sets it to Y-Axis
Down.....but the RS instructs say the gas is Y-Axis up. And the brake also
does Y-Axis Down.........I don't know

Also, the wheel seems to have a big "dead Zone".  I mean, I can move it back
and forth pretty good going down the backstretch at taladega and the car
hardly moves, is yours like this???

Any help would be appreciated...............

Thanks,

TAZ

Tazzie,
I recognize your handle from RASN.
Being the Earnhart fan that u are, I'm suprised you'd be worried about
brakes. Figured you'd just use the car ahaed of you to slow down (Maybe TL 4
example)

Anways, to be able to properly use your controller in N3, you have paint a
big "24" on your side doors &...:-)

Seriously, though, it sounds like you have the pedals set on "split axis"
via whatever software act-labs gives you to set up your wheel. This gives an
x-axis & y-axis, N3 won't recognize this. You need to set your pedals to a
combined axis setting. I don't know how to do this with your wheel (being an
MS wheel user, myself)

Nascar 3 does recognize separate gas and brake axis's.  You have to
calibrate both joysticks inside of nascar.  Once you do this, you can
then set the controls.
