Well, I had a Viper 770 Ultra AGP on the 650, and used it on the P4
until I got my GeForce card the next day. The frame rates were higher
but I compared Direct3D to Direct3D. OpenGL is awesomely fast on the
GeForce2 Ultra card...
I run a full field with all options on, but world detail set to 0, and
all cars drawn ahead. car detail on medium. 800x600x32 openGL, we
are in the 60-75 fps at Daytona, about 55 fps at Rockingham. With
1024x768x32 OpenGL, it's just a tad bit lower... very playable.
So I feel that the P4 made the game more fluid and playable, but the
GeForce2 Ultra card in OpenGL REALLY made it worthwhile!
The card I purchased was the VisionTek GeForce2 Ultra 64MB DDR
DVII/VGA/TV-Out. I understand the GeForce2MX is a good card too,
though...
