N2 problems &patches

I have experienced several problems with N2 as I'm sure others have.  I
havent used any patches yet, but here are a coupla things i've noticed...
No matter where I qualify I always get the last pit spot... when there is a
big crash there are several "computer" cars that drive though each other...
Some times when the field is sreadout during a caution the line of cars
does not move up the leading pack... On cautions there are no side by side
restarts...No matter what I do I cant get more than 38 cars (including me)
in the field... Top name drivers NEVER qualify bad... In crashes, I've gone
half way though another car and been stuck.
There is probably a coupla more I cant think of right now but does any body
have the patches to fix these things???
                                Thanx,
                                RG Thorson

The patches available wont fix these things (not sure about the 38 car
rule)

Two column restarts was not implemented.

Best drivers will always qualify best because they have the best
settings.   You can alter them to all have the same settings and then
they will qualify randomly.   But drivers in the list will miss out
all times that less cars can run at the short tracks.

You will always have the FIRST pit space.

The crash inside another car happens sometimes.

The night race at C***te has a three hour sunset.

No-one ever turns up to watch qualifying.

The seat colours at California are disgusting (shame Mr Penske!)

I don't think the patches fix these problems either.

Cheers,

Craig

noticed...

Please do yourself a favor and install the Sierra patches. It fixes a lot
of problems.

This is normal. When you race online, you will get different pit stalls.

though each other...

Normal bug...

Patches help this

That's the way the game is written.

Should get 39 including you.

Normal...get some of the utilities that either randomize the cars, or
like IWCC's that are more realistic to the current season

Small bug. You can drive through AI cars in turns. Just don't do it.

Sierra has them on their site, I have some fixes on mine.

% Some times when the field is sreadout during a caution the line of cars

% In crashes, I've gone
% half way though another car and been stuck.

A couple of observations....  Long time racers of Papyrus sims are well
aware of the fact that the sim has a hard time gauging who crossed the
finish line first.  A majority of times if 2 or more cars cross the
finish line within fractions of a second of each other, the sim will
award this honor to a car that was not the first to cross the finish
line.  I strongly suspect (from hours of testing), that this is what is
happening with the pack not getting back in line properly after yellow
flags.  It seems that there is a "major" confusion on the AI's part as
to who crossed the line first.  It usually takes 1-2 laps before they
sort it out (and the usually sort it out wrong).  So if Papy would fix
this part of the code, I highly suspect that many of the yellow flag
problems would disappear also.  Besides, I really hate having beaten
someone to the S/F line by nose (or more) only to be forced further back
in the pack.  It's even worse if this is for the checkered flag!

Getting stuck inside another car happens when to contact between the two
cars starts with the wheel wells of both cars.  Papy has an area of the
car marked as open and when these two "openings" mesh, one can totally
drive inside the other car.  Makes for some interesting replays from
different camera angles.

So THATS the reason for his troubles last year. OK thats it you
are BANNED from playing N2 until he wins one (hopefully Daytona) <G>

I had him hit the wall at Tally at 200 then he engaged warp and
slid the wrong way at---- 1251mph !!---- (halfway around the track) .

If someone could tell me how to get at the replay files for uploading

i would be happy to up it (happened a week before his Real hit with
that maniac #24 driver)  in N2 he did it to himself

Check the "sleep" setting under the driver skills for Earnhardt, they
may be set to high. ;-)
