GP3 - Interesting bug(s)

I noticed something very strange. Rain race at Brazil, Semi Pro
(only aid used was "no car damage"). Rain at start of race, car
shod w/rain tires. After a few laps the rev limiter comes on as I
pass the pits, even though I`m 100% on the track and in 5th gear
at 110+ mph with no intention of coming into the pits!. I tried a few
races in a row with the same results. I also read another poster
mention that his car seemed to be "pulled into the pits" several
timis during a race at Monza. This, along with a graphic bug of
little micro cars and objects bleeding into parts of my screen at
times leads me to believe the Warez ver is not final. . .

Also, I was wondering if anyone has noticed a static sound
constantly coming from the left speaker ?  It`s hard to explain, but
it`s very notacible. I`m using an SB-Live and I`ve tried just about
everything to fix this prob (move balance more to right - lower
treble, etc.) with no succsess. Am I the only one with this (these)
probs ?

Interesting Lorne,
I have this problem in SCGT on my set of Altec Lansing 45.1's on the left
speaker as you described.  I don't think I get this in any other sims, but
I'll find out if I get it in GP3 soon.  Turtle Beach Montego II sound card
as well.

Another time... IT IS THE FINAL VERSION!!!!

Gp3 is just the old and tired game engine slapped with a couple of new
features.  All the same old bugs are there.

Well, I don't know if you always here it or under high amplifications, but
what i would do is move the plug around to see if you get a better contact

two, don't use the sound magnification output, but use the normal output
from your card that requires an amplified speaker,

three, make sure your windows settings aren't much further then 50% for
volume and wave

Hey Daniel,
I`ve played about 40 different games since getting my SB-Live
and I`ve never had any sound probs to speak of. A while back
when using an AWE64 w/F1RS I had a static prob that would
come out of [both] speakers...  in fact, that static prob would
show itself in a few games w/the AWE64. It`s a shame that this
left speaker static prob is making it very hard (nearly impossible)
for me to fully enjoy the game, because other than that I kinda like
GP3. . .

Btw, I even disconnected my wheel to see if the static was
possibly related to gameport/controller interference...but the
left speaker static was still there.

I Hope you have better luck.
All the best,
Lorne

thats a bit strange.

i have a theory about this.  The person forgot to put any petrol in
the car.  There must be a default petrol setting of 1-2 laps, then of
course the auto pit thing came on (which you can turn off by pressing
enter).  If thats the case, then its his own fault.

This, along with a graphic bug of

I had the static problem too with my AWE64 and GP3, and also a few other
games. I fixed it by going into Device Manager, and then going to "System
Devices / Direct Memory Access Contoller". If you then click the "settings"
tab for this, and tick "Reserve DMA buffer", and select a value of 64kb,
this will solve the problem. You then need to reboot. I believe this same
fix also works for the Live!

Jeez!!!.........I've had this problem for about 6 months in various games,
and put it down to faulty speakers every time!!??/

I've bought about 2 pairs of replacement speakers to try and iron out
problem.

Is it something to do with SB AWE64??

Hey Greg,
Not 100% sure what you ment by that remark ;0)
I will admit I`m a little in shock over what is said by most to
be the "final" .... I believe it`s the final, but I dont, if ya know what
I mean lol .... Some of these bugs/missing features are real bad
news (hard to believe really) like no sound from other cars ?
man.... thats just pathetic.
