GP3: Weird pit lane bug

by Richard G Cleg » Tue, 01 Aug 2000 04:00:00

I started my first wet race in GP3 last night - was quite enjoying it
too until this weird bug started.  Every time I passed the pits the
speed lane limiter came on temporarily bring the car to a bit of a halt
and usually spinningme - also all the AI cars started to piut.

  Anyone else getting this one?

GP3: Weird pit lane bug

It's not a bug (for about the 100th time)

look in the bottom right of the***pit, you'll see 4 green lights
around a red x, when those green lights are on, you're being called
into the pits for whatever reason, be it low fuel, need to change to
rain tires, need to change to slicks, etc.

when the red x is lit up, your teammate is pitting.

Just press enter to change whether you want to pit or not.

How many laps into the race does it do this? It almost sounds
like your pit strategy "calling" you into the pits.

Look - it's a damn bug if I haven't pressed the pit button, if no
indication has been given me to pit and if it puts on the pit lane speed
limiter while I'm on the straight.  That's a bug whichever way you look
at it.

It's _every_ lap in the rain - and without warning or the pit lights
coming on - and when I'm on the straight not in the pits.

What tyres did you start off with, if you started on dry then it rained it
would call you in regardless off your strategy options.

Started off on wet tyres in the wet.  Maybe it's calling me in for
intermediates or somesuch but it would be nice to be informed of this.
It certainly is not realisitic to have it jam on the pit lane speed
limiter mid track.  If it's not a bug it's a damn stupid feature.

Does GP3 have a race pit strategy similar to F1 2000?
I still think that would explain this.

Sorry dude, but it happened to me...

The pit light came on, I tried to drive past the pits and the limiter came
on.

Next time the pit light came on, I turned it off by pressing Enter. Drove
past the pits just fine.

NO BUG!

Maybe you need to upgrade you eyes to version 3.0?  =;-D

Fine if the pit light came on - which it didn't.  Also even if it's
not a bug it's a stupid feature - you didn't see David Coulthard
spinning off because his pit lane limiter came on last race when he
zoomed past the pits.  It's damn silly either way.

Well I'd call it a bug.  If the program tries to slow you up when you
are still out on the track, believing that you are or should be in the
pits, then that to me is one major bug.

(Grin) I like this idea.  Now that would be realistic failures.
