Nascar Pit Lane Stuff

I've been playing Nascar for a couple of months and I've only just
noticed this little trick to bypass the 55mph speed limit in the
pits.

It only really works at Talledega, because your pit is near the
front, and there is no wall seperating the track and pit lane.

To save some time while in the pits, as soon as the pit crew
is finished, accelerate and pull a hard right. This will send
you across the grass and onto the start/finish straight.

This means you won't have to take the long and slow trip down
pit lane. You will probably save you a valuable 3 to 4 seconds,
just be careful of the cars when you pull out in front of them!

Speaking of pit stops, do real Nascar's have the speed limiter
thingo that F1's and Indycars have that stop them going over
the speed limit?

We don't see that many Nascar Races on TV in Australia, so I can't
remember if they do or not. If so, it would be nice to see this
implemented into the game. Driving fast down the pit lane, while
trying to keep below 55mph, is an art that I can't quite master...

And one more thing, how come you can't see your pit crew in the
mirror? I'm usually braking hard while flying into the pits, just
missing my pit crew. Either that, or I'm too busy looking at the
speedo. Having to reverse when you can't see where your crew is
can be a pain in the ass.

Here's what I do, if you have the 1.2 patch, you can toggle on and
off Auto Braking by hitting Alt-B.  This way when I come onto Pit Road
I hit Alt-B to toggle on auto braking so that I can just keep the car
pegged and not have to worry about speeding.  Also, in real Nascar Cup
cars there are not speed limiters in the cars like in Indycars, they

I trying to keep below 55mph, is an art that I can't quite master...

Oh c'mon ya'll!
That's as much a part of the sim as getting the car hooked up and fast
and learning how not to race like a rookie.
Cheating like that is no better than turning the opponents down to 90%
and yanking off your restrictor plate!

Just make like you're landing a jet fighter (in a gymnasium!) on the
deck of a carrier!
I used to hate pitting in a sim, but I did it with NASCAR from the
start and now I can land that car right on the spot *almost* every time!
keeping 55 in the pit is a matter of Feathering.  Feathering in the
dogleg will help keep you out of the wall and out of the "back to green
fracas"

Here's what I do:

Once I've reached about 50 mph, I shift from first to fourth gear. This
way I can go 55mph without adjusting the throttle too much. Once I've
passed the pit exit, I shift back to first and hit the gas and go.

Speaking of pit stops how does this idea sound?

There should be an adjustment for fuel capacity for the entire field
of cars.  You could decrease the total amount of fuel that cars can
carry.

This would allow players to control the number of pit stops required
in a race - regardless of the race length.

I never run races over 30% long so I never get to make pit stops!

Please let me and everyone else know what you think and maybe Papyrus
will include this feature in the next patch.
