Ok, fed up with what may be a good title, but with bad multiplayer support I
wrote Hasbro's cusomter service..and once it ended up at Microprose's
customer service I actually got some feedback.  So I'll share it and say
that if you want better multiplayer support, send email yourself!

Below is the email, both the reply and what I sent originally.
--------------
Yes, we have been getting some feedback about this issue with the upcoming
game. I will forward this to the programmers and producers.

Am I the only one who gets an "oh my god... not another one!!" impression
from the MicroProse reply? <g>

Way to go Chris, maybe it'll help. I didn't know that GP3 wouldn't
support internet play, and it would be a shame indeed if that truly
was the case.

8-16 player LAN only.  If they use TCP/IP for the LAN protocol, then it
might work on the 'net [see SCGT and Viper Racing for how well those worked]
otherwise if they go IPX [doh] then that won't cut the mustard.  Also, even
if they do use TCP/IP, but targeted LAN only then most likely its been
optimized for that bandwidth and the very low latency and won't perform all
that well under the smaller bandwidth and higher latencies of the net.

I heard the prohibition of multiplayer via the net comes from money-hungry
FIA.
If Mr. Crammond would make CART sim, it would be magnificent one. =(

I'm sure that's just a feeble excuse -- why would the FIA care whether or
not people race online with an officially-licensed F1 product?  Doesn't make
sense to me.
