but there's a small problem with the sound.  when driving the ferrari,
some of the cars, when they go *** past me, sound awful,
their engine sound seems to break up badly.  but ferrari sound is ok.

and when driving the lotus, i get a fairly frequent 'static burst',
eg. at the glen, sliding round turn 3. and a lot a spa. happens in
practice mode too.

i tried changing max sounds, didn't help.  

any ideas what i should look at next?

There is a patch to fix this problem.  It contains altered sound files that
worked fine on my PCI128.   If you want them,  post here or respond to me via
email and I will send them to you.
