I have a pci128 sound card and in GPL it seems that there is a problem with
the last drivers (saw some posts about it). A solution was to use the
previous drivers. I just bought my card and don't know where to find these
drivers (just got the last on CD).
Is it the best way to have a good sound in GPL and not this noise?
On which FTP could I find these ?

Thanks for your help

If you have the same drivers on your CD that are now available on the CL
site, then you are in trouble.  The original drivers are not on the site, as
it assumed that either you have them already on your CD or you wouldn't want
them because they are older/less capable.

If this is the case, write to CL immediately and explain the problem with
GPL (maybe they will clue-in and do something to fix it in an upcoming
driver release) and request that they send you the earlier drivers.

Marc.

What do you mean by "earlier drivers"? The drivers on my CD are from
6-Sept-1998, those on CL's download section from 25-Sept-1998
(according to Win98). Both version cause the same, known problems (no
clear sound, but not unplayable). Please beware me from mailing
nonsense to Sierra's friendly tech support :-)

As GPL is my (almost) only sim now, I just dumped the PCI128 and bought
the
SB Live! Value. Just couldn't wait for a patch. Bad thing of course is,
that
it's likely not the card, but GPL's fault, as the card worked with all
other
games...
