N2 modem setups

My friend has a packard bell legend 406cd (75 pentium) and I have an Acer
Acros (75 pentium).  We have been unable to find any strings that work
for our computers.  The PC manufacturers have been useless in helping us
with our dilema.  Does anyone know what the strings are for these
machines to shut off the necessary items to play?????  Your help would be
appreciated 10 fold.  Thanks.

Give either the Hayse or the Zoom settings a try (use the default
strings in the game), since these tend to work with most systems.

You need to be looking for strings for the installed modems, not the
computer brands.  Many manufacturers install either Brand Name modems or
OEMs that may not match any brand.  What you need to do is find out what
kind of modem is installed in both computers and then check the modem list
for a compatible init string.  Good luck
