GPL Cheats!

The original code for GPL set the hp for each car. Changing this value
changes the car! Why alter this? [1] BECAUSE you are not as fast as the
posted Hot Shoes! [2] You do not want to invest the time to go faster.

The solution: [1] Invest the time and analysis of your individual driving
style. [2] Use the GPL Calc program [link on our editing links page]. [3]
Become a C++ programmer and you can change anything in the game you want to.
Of course at that point why bother with GPL at all just create your own sim.
[4] Follow the posts at Turn 1: sooner or later someone will post the
location of the code in question.

First of all, this all sounds more like a pathetic attempt to try and
drum up some hits on your site than genuine concern for the GPL
community.

That said, the cheat code 'evidence' Chipper posted about a driving
robot of some sort is laughable at best.  If he's not making it up
entirely then his friend pressed V or Shift-V while sitting on the grid
and was then 'riding' with one of the AI cars as it made it's laps.  His
car would have been sitting still, waiting for him to return (cycling
through the drivers with V and Shift-V or by just pressing CTRL-V).

That's not to say it's impossible to hack the game to gain some
advantage (there's really no way to ever entirely eliminate this kind of
'cheating' from a game).  If someone wants to do this in single player
mode than more power to them.  It's really none of anyone's business and
they should be able to play the game however the hell you want to.

However if in order to feel good about themselves they have to try and
cheat in a multiplayer game in the hopes that someone they don't even
know might think they're a better player than they really are, then
they've got some serious issues they need to deal with...

And please...

If you are able to do this (it's actually quite easy to do for any good
Papyrus editor here in the community), please do not do this for online
racing. Keep it offline.

The client/server architecture is quite IMHO lacking in terms of cheater
protection. AFAIK they probably thought that simracers would not do such a
thing, but there's always some lamers who will try to do this just to be
good online.

You only cheat yourself when doing this.

<drivel cut>

We all know this, this is off topic on what my post was about.......a
diversion on your part.

I stated exactly what happened as it happened...........That is all.

There will always be guys who cheat.  I have raced against them for real
and its funny since whent hey get protested and thrown out they still
proclaim they are fast.  Funny deal is they are talking more to themselves
then anyone else.

Winning by cheating has never been winning.  It is just a way for a person
to try to fell better about themselves.  Kinda like the bully in school who
made fun of others so he could feel better about himself.
