Monsieur I must take offence at your position on this isuue.

I am a relative newcomer to this group, spuured on by my access to the
internet and my enjoyment of GPL.  I do not feel that I should be singled
out in this way just because I did not have the means to access ras until a
few months ago.

I demand to be informed WTF is LeChicken.

Hehe, the old McCarthy theme is still working, isn't it?

Hi, R.A.S. --

I'm sorry.  The purpose of my original "cheat code" post was to provoke a few
laughs.  The last thing I would have imagined was being co-opted by Doug
Haithcock into another platform for his "views."  Sheesh.

And, Doug, I've gotta say that I don't appreciate it at all.  If you wanted to
simply say "thanks for the laugh," you could have said so -- either in a
private e-mail to me, or in a message to this group that said ONLY that.  Your
response appears to me to be simply a not-very-well-concealed "f*** you" to
those who disagree with you.  Grow the hell up, quick, will you?

Red-faced regards, y'all.

stuff snipped.

Hey, Doug --

Please (try) to learn how to reply to a message without creating ump***
additional unrelated or partially related threads.  By my count, you've now
created four different threads loosely tied to my original. And you've done the
same with other posts and your unnecessary technique of adding
"------------------ by Joe Blow" to your subject line.  It makes reading your
contributions even more maddening.

Thanks.

Simmering down, now.

On Christmas Eve in 1980, I went cross country skiing in northen
Saskatchewan.  Lac LaRonge do be exact.  I did 20 kilometers.  The
temperature was -50 C.  It was fun, but I remember when I tried to blink and
my eye lashes had frozen to my skin.

Well, as long as we've wandered this far off-thread ... ;-)

I remember reading "To Build a Fire", one of Jack London's stories, back when I
was in middle school.  I still shiver thinking about it.  As I recall, the main
character could approximate how far below zero the temperature was by spitting.
If the spittle shattered as it hit the snow, it wasn't quite as cold as when
it exploded BEFORE it hit the ground.  (Something like that, anyway.) Shudder.
How do you guys do it?

Put an end to my pain, probably.
