F1 2002 - Loss of Brakes?

by bertr » Tue, 23 Jul 2002 09:01:54

In F1 2002, I find that, after 3 or 4 laps, I always lose my brakes.
Specifically, at Hockenheim (the old downloadable circuit) when driving
the Williams (haven't really tried any other car) during a race against
the AI, my brakes simply fail after a few laps.  When I quit the race at
that point, the race summary gives me a DNF due to Brakes.  This happens
every single time, so it's not a random event.

My controller is an LWFF with TSW peds.  Hardware-wise everything is
fine.  In fact, if I start a new race immediately, my brakes are fine
again.  So apparently, it's caused by something in the sim.  Is there
something in the car set-up or the overall settings that I need to
adjust?  Perhaps some kind of setting that's wearing out the brakes?
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Where can you download the old track?

Thanks

Increase the brake duct? (It's in the car setup menus)

Change the type of mechanical failures.  Time Scaled results in the same
failure at the same time no matter how many times you restart a race.

I'll try both of those suggestions and see if it helps at all.

Thanks!

Yeah, I think the Brake Duct size is definately your problem though,
like mentioned above, Increase their size in the car setup menu
to get some more cool air flowing over them, and they should be
ok.
