problem with logitech WFFB

by jarn » Sat, 03 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Hi,

i just bought the logitech wingman formula force
but the auto centering/calibration doesn't work correct
when i start the computer the wheel turns fully left and then
right but it doesn't return to the center it stops at about 45 *
from the right. then when i go to the joystick panel and click on the
logitech i get the testscreen and the line from the wheel is exactly
horizontal. now when i turn the wheel to the middle and hold it there
the left side of the line goes down and it shows that its 20* moved to the
left but im holding the wheel still centered
i allready tried holding the wheel in different directions on startup but it
doesnt make any difference
do i have to exchange this wheel or is there something im missing?

BTW im using the 3.20 profiler drivers

Thanks ,
Jarno Bierman

I've seen the same thing with my WFFB (purchased two days ago) - sometimes,
you just have to restart Windows.  I try to make sure the wheel is centered
before Windows starts.  This usually fixes it.

I have only seen this when the wheel is stopped from going to it's
extents when it auto calibrates. If the wheel is centered and goes
left/right and the resulting center is off by 40 degrees then you
should return it. You also might want to try unchecking the auto calib
box in the WM FF properties.
