Logitech WF/WFF possible wiring problem!

I just discovered a wiring problem in my Wingman Formula steering assy. and
thought I would share it with other owners of this fine wheel.
For the last few weeks I noticed the left LED light would flicker on and off
which coincided with the turning of the wheel.... I have them covered with
tape but can still see the glow slightly. I didn't pay much attention to it
as everything *useful* was working fine and figured the plug was not
connected properly to the wheel. When the right paddle shifter failed to
respond to every command I knew I had a problem that needed some attention.
After disassembling the unit I noticed the wiring harness that controls
buttons/paddles was catching on a part of the plastic frame that juts
out.....must be for a force component ......and therefore pinching it while
turning the wheel left.
The harness comes out of the steering shaft and loosely wraps around the
shaft counterclockwise and inevitably causes a pinch while turning left.
I redirected the harness clockwise around the shaft and it now has room for
unconstricted movement.
Everything is working now.....even those damn lights.....but I'm sure the
harness has been damaged, just hope It'll last until I can get a
replacement.
I would suggest all owners of the Wingman F/FF to do a little preventive
maintenance ;-)
