Has anyone tried this out in a league race yet ?  I downloaded it the other
day but it's not multiplayer compatible with the 1.1.0.2 patch.

I doubt any respectable leagues are running the leaked patches.  Most all
will wait until the official patch is released and not "leaked."  All the
leagues I have ever participated in always wait until they go official,
meaning they also wait until Papy updates all its online servers as well.

As best as I figure that won't be any time "soon."

I know several leagues are running it, mostly because Eric Busch said it was 99.9% sure that it was
the final patch.

After running it, theres really no going back.

I didn't realize TPTCC and ESCORS weren't respectable...

I've just learned about the stand ESCORS has taken and I don't agree with
the decision. It's not on for a major league to break ranks with a
developer/publisher and promote the use of leaked beta software.

Then they should release the patch in a timely fashion. I don't blame the
leagues for using it, it's the only way to get decent racing.

Who gets to decide what is a timely fashion?  Some would say the minute any
fix is available it should be released, so if they could get a leaked beta
of it they would.  Is that right, or inappropriate?  Everyone will have an
opinion on it, so honestly the only thing that matters is what the company
chooses to do.  Papy at least releases patches, when was the last time EA
patched a racing sim?

Not true.  Any respectable league that wants to still race is using the
patch, including people that WORKED for papy.  If you want to run in a
league where people are still able to use aids and rediculous setups, more
power to ya, but people who want to race on a more even level are using the
patch that is already done.

Who said I was talking about them?
The patch fixes a lot of things and has no known problems to my knowledge, on the other hand, the
game off the CD has many bugs.

Its a no brainer for leagues to run it, people can always have 2 installs so they can race on
sierra.

A respectable league doesnt have to worry about someone using the aids if
the league says they are not allowed.  Respectable leagues have members that
follow all the rules.  I've got a hint for you, there are very very few of
them.

It's not like ESCORS leaked the patch.  It was available at several sites
last week.  Now if they keep it in house, who is it hurting?  THey were not
spreading it around all over the net, at least not that I'm aware of, but
the patch did BENEFIT their league.  Even in a beta state it was an
improvement over the original sim.  Remember N3?  Everytime Papy released a
public upgrade to the patch, there were SCREAMS and howls from users who
wanted the last version....:)

In a fantasy world, yeah.  Are you saying everyone in NASCAR/CART/IRL/F1 are
so respectable that you don't need rules?     lol

Oh, the patch lets you forbid various aids?  I didn't realize that.  How many
leagues actually ban drivers from using steering or braking help, for example?
Do they also ban clutch help?
